Weekly Update:
· Weekly summary of portfolio performance is outlined on pages 9, 10, and 11. Weekly performance was as weak as I’ve seen in some time, as the prospects of a trade war with China sent many names that we’ve been monitoring significantly lower. As it stands, the best performer on the week was The Stars Group (TSG), up 3.97%. The poorest performer was Chinese firm 51Job Inc, off 21.64% on the week, and down 22% on Friday alone, following the announcement of tariffs. Given my general approach to risk management, we would have been stopped out of a number of our long position this week.
· The escalation of a trade war would clearly have a negative impact on equity prices as would cause us to reevaluate our long equity bias, should it continue.
